Exchange students are not eligible to take the following types of courses:

  • - Continuing & Professional Education or University Without Walls (CPE/UWW) courses
  • - Courses that fulfill the “UMass Junior Year Writing Requirement” 
  • - Courses that fulfill the “Integrative Experience Requirement”
  • - Online courses

Exchange students are not eligible to take courses within the following departments:

Computer Science, Dance, Music, Nursing, and Studio Art. Students interested in the Music Department may apply but cannot sign up for classes until on-campus auditions are completed. Private lessons are not open to exchange students and no classes can be guaranteed pre-audition.

Isenberg School of Management 
Classes are limited to those who have declared such as their major at their home institution. Students are limited to 3 courses per semester at Isenberg School of Management. These majors include Accounting, Finance, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Management, Marketing, Operations & Information Management, and Sport Management.Students will be given priority enrollment after UMass Juniors select courses.

Engineering Tracks
Enrollment in Engineering classes is limited to those who have declared such as their major at their home institution. Students will be given priority enrollment after UMass Juniors select courses.
